The awards were presented at the International Boating & Water Safety Summit (IBWSS) in San Diego on April 18. Collectively, the group’s boating safety programs improved safe boating on Berlin Lake in Ohio.
David Esparza of District 11S, Flotilla 10-11 was presented a Letter of Commendation. Dave’s efforts in boating safety as an instructor, a qualification examiner and conducting safety/security patrols significantly contributed to making Arizona’s waterways safer and more enjoyable by those who use them.
Each year NWSC presents awards at the summit to selected individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to water safety during the previous year.
The National Water Safety Congress has an extensive award program to recognize those people who contribute to the safety of everyone who enjoys water recreation. One regional award per NWSC region and a number of Letters of Commendation are presented.
Recognition of those who contribute substantially to water safety is encouraged to further promote water and boating safety.
Those
recognized are helping to reduce the number of drowning and boating accidents that now occur each year.
NWSC's extensive award program recognizes contributions of many water safety professionals and dedicated volunteers. This is an opportunity to say "Thank You" and to inspire others to continue to give their best for water safety!
