In the words of National Commodore Gene Seibert, “This is what your NEXCOM of 2025 will probably look like.” Since this year’s NEXCOM (National Executive Committee) all looked like they stepped out of a sci-fi movie set, purple hair and sparkles, the attendees applauded the spoof.

The theme for the Friday Night event “Into the Future” was in keeping with NACON’s central theme, “The Winds of Change.” Many festive celebrants arrived in costume befitting the theme, as you will see in the accompanying photos.

Ever mindful of the tragedies in New Orleans and the surrounding area, the attendees decided the traditional activities of NACON should continue, although much of the table conversation included reference to the disaster.

“Friday Night Fun Night” was initiated many years ago, mainly to give the NACON attendees an opportunity to relax from their deliberations and renew old friendships. This year’s attendees most certainly kept this tradition alive.
