– “The Winds of Change”
Orlando, Florida, USA. “Welcome to Orlando,” is proclaimed at the airport and along the highways. The locale where “Magical Kingdoms” and “Killer Whales” occupy the same real estate. Some of the many early arrivals traded in their Garrison and Combination Caps for a set of large, black, mouse ears. The behind the scenes folks have been at work for days. Schedules have been drafted, and redrafted umpteen times until the final version is available for pick up in “Suite 22 – The Office.” The routine, if stress and tension can be called routine, is “old hat” for some of the Auxiliarists on duty. For others it is their first time being called to front office action. These are the folks who rarely get recognized because they do their job so well they are transparent to action going on… and this is the way they prefer it to be. “I usually hear my name being yelled across the hall when something has gone awry, says Phil Helmer. “If I don’t hear my name, things are probably OK.” Mr. Helmer’s staff includes the following Auxiliarists: |
