NACON 2004
Sunny Southern California, particularly Costa Mesa, extends a gracious welcome to the Auxiliarists attending our National Conference 2004 (NACON 2004). Auxiliarists from every corner of America, plus guests and visitors from around the world, have gathered once again to make and shape our organization for the coming years. Southern California offers the attendees opportunities to explore and participate in the many exciting activities of the area. Early arrivals (and those who will stay after the conference) are treated to the many attractions of the area. From the lavish Rodeo Drive shopping district of Los Angeles of the north, to the zoo and sites of San Diego, Southern California has something for all. A fantastic day cruise, “26 miles across the sea,” to the island of Santa Catalina, is on the itinerary of many attendees, enjoying the speedy sail on a powerful catamaran vessel. The crossing was usually followed by an adventurous bus tour up the mountainside past herds of wild bison, and, of course, many opportunities to participate in one of our favorite pastimes, shopping. Many of this year’s attendees brought their families to Southern California. Youngsters from 5 to 65 are enjoying Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Universal and other studios. All of these attractions welcomed them with open arms, for a fee, of course. Hopefully, some of the readers of our coverage of NACON 2004 will decide
to attend in the near future. Think about taking advantage of the unique
fellowship opportunities, great hotel rates and ample attraction discounts
offered to attendees. It’s a great deal anyway you look at it! |
